History: | So named in 1910 by Albert Crockett after a similar feature in New Mexico. The peak has been known as Quartzite Peak until 1910 but htere was a quartzite Mountin nearby with which it could be confused. Thus Crockett reported Huggins Peak to government surveyors in 1915 (AZ-T101). |
